How it all started!
My wife and I started Golden Ears Off-Road in 2021. We bought our 3rd gen 4runner to go on adventures with our two beautiful daughters!
We started out by wanting our own roof rack for our 3rd gen 4runner. We wanted it to be low profile, aesthetically pleasing and most importantly strong. After searching for a while, we were unable to find something that fit our needs locally in British Columbia.
So I (Matt), having a degree in mechanical engineering figured why not just do it myself! I spent many evenings measuring, and remeasuring, and sketching and modeling, until I came to a design I was happy with. While I have made a few tweaks since then, the design has remained largely the same. All of the design work is done by me (Matt) and the manufacturing all done locally in British Columbia, Canada.
Looking to the future, we are very eager to release various other products and accessories for your off-road vehicles!
